Terruhn.IT Manufaktur, that’s me: René Terruhn.
I work as an independent IT consultant with the aim of helping people and organisations achieve digital sovereignty.
Digital systems characterise our everyday lives, our work and our communication. Those who use these systems bear responsibility for their own data and at the same time for the stability and security of the digital space as a whole. That’s why I see IT not just as a service, but as a shared responsibility.
Over many years, I have seen projects fail due to tool decisions, vanity or simple convenience. Systems were set up that nobody fully understood later on. Data was not reliably backed up, responsibilities remained unclear and dependencies were accepted, even though alternatives would have been possible.
That’s why I decided to work differently.
I do not accept that digital systems keep people dependent. Technology should provide support and guidance. It should strengthen the ability to act and open up space for what is actually important. Very few people engage with IT for its own sake. They use technology because they are pursuing other goals with it – they want to work, design, organise, communicate or act entrepreneurially. In this context, technology is not an end in itself, but a tool that can function reliably and remain in the background.
My aim is to create structures that are comprehensible, maintainable and sustainable in the long term. I develop solutions in such a way that you can understand them, use them yourself and develop them further.
Where possible, I favour local and European providers and open standards. For me, this decision is not an ideological commitment, but an expression of a conscious approach to dependencies, data protection and local value creation. In other words, digital sovereignty.
I deliberately work small, personally and transparently. Terruhn.IT Manufaktur stands for individual support instead of mass processing. My goal is to work with you to build digital structures that create clarity and are sustainable in the long term.
Digital sovereignty is not created through technology alone, but through understanding, routine and an attitude of self-empowerment.
I love to contribute to this.
